Here is my 4th picture from the 4th folder. It is a picture of a lake, Lake Amador, about 30 miles from home. It is a man made lake and they fill it with fish each year so the guys love it. This picture was taken in mid summer and you can see how dry it is around the lake

This is my latest accomplishment. I crocheted by number a picture of my grandson Cayden. The other picture is the original. This picture is 24" X 42" Now what do I do with it????

To answer Melly's Meme questions:
1. If I could bring a character in my favorite book to life it would be Rhett Butler. He was such a MAN!!!!
2. If I could solve one of history's mysteries it would be the real age of the earth.
3. The two people I would most want to be on a desert island with would be Jesus and Moses.
4. The celebrity I would most like to spend a day with would be Florence Nightengale.
5. Maybe I would change my age. I don't like this old age thing.
6. If I could live anywhere it would be where my kids would come and see me OFTEN!

Sunset over the Pacific Ocean
This is the Neptune pool at Hearst Castle and is still used today
This is Hearst Castle. It sits high on a hill overlooking the ocean and has a fastinating story behind it. There are artifacts in the house that are from 1300 BC and it is something to see. Patty Hearst is in charge of the property now. Some of us remember her from the 70s. There are 165 rooms in the place and Hearst actually used the "house" to live in. There is a working ranch still there and we even saw zebra roaming the fields.

Oh Oh!!!!! I made the mistake of going to a yard sale today and this is what I will add to my stash. I guess I will have to buy another tub for it. The dark blue is sock yarn and is wool so I can use it for my Ship's Project but the rest of it is just to have. When I started stashing I was saving up for when I retired and couldn't afford yarn any more but I have been retired for 6 years so I have no excuse now. Just an addiction. Is there a yarner's anonymous????

Look what we got each other for our anniversary! We decided we deserved one more "new" car before we were too old to drive. It is a 2007 Red Jewel Chevy Impala. It has wood look paneling on the dash and is beautiful. I got to pick the color and Grady likes the Impala. I will drive it today for the first time. Can't wait!!!!

My hubby and I took a trip to Apple Hill today and had a grand time looking in the shops and buying truly fresh fruit. This picture is one of the shops and the above picture is all the beautiful fruit and veggies we got. The peaches are sooo good right off the trees and the apples are great too. Apple Hill is located just above Placerville , Ca and is just full of orchards and produce shops. Did I mention the Fudge Factory? Love that rocky road.

My cotton bush or whatever you call it has given birth to her first baby. This is the first time I have watched this from seed to cotton. Now I would like to weave it or spin it and make cloth but I sold my spinning wheel. This is soooo cool.

Nancy, If you come back here I will answer your question. You have to use fusable interfacing. I got the light to medium weight and it worked great.

This is my Poinsettia from last Christmas. That is really being frugal, don't you think?
I had to one upyou Melissa. This is my Christmas present for this year. This red set of pots and pans was on sale so Grady told me to go get them. Now just about everything in my kitchen is red. Aren't they lovely??

Here is the hardest part of making this quilt. You have to work on your knees as you tie it and my knees are old. This will take a few days to complete. I told my hubby to just take the picture --without my face. LOL It is also 96 degrees outside and about 78 in here so it is very warm. It is a labor of love !!!

Cotton Flower

Last fall I had my hubby stop on the freeway and run out in a cotton field to get me a cotton bole so I could send it to my grandkids in Wa. They don't grow cotton up there. (Too wet!) Anyway I never got it mailed and this spring I decided to plant some of the seeds out of it They all grew and now I have a cotton bush or whatever you call it. This is one of the flowers and they can be any color. Now I have to hire cotton pickers and maybe I can get enough to make a dishcloth LOL. You can see a small bole down on the right.

Putting the quilt together was a lot of fun. I spent one whole day ripping out and resewing. If you have ever ripped out serger stitches you know how difficult it was. You know the old saying (measure twice and cut once) well I learned the hard way. The fabric in between the squares is Wa. State Uni. fabric and is soooo perfect because that is where my son went to school. This took a lot of math ( for those of you that always said I'll never use this again.) The center square is a little bigger so it was hard to line up the rest. Oh well, next time I will know better. I was using 12 in squares and all should have been multiples of 6.

Beginnings of a T-shirt Quilt

This is a t-shirt quilt I am making for my oldest son. I first laid the shirts out on the floor and them I tagged them and cut the logo off the front. This actually put a blister on my thumb. Not as easy as I thought it would be but it's a work of the heart.

Hearts and shamrock socks

I love these socks but need to shrink them a little. Any suggestions?
